When the wilderness calls, Gunnar’s Rock Tour takes you there. The Rock Tour combines the technology of today with the fit, handling and features package ideal for exploring the beauty of our world.

New for 2007: Chainstay Disc Brakes and 29er Sizes!

The Rock Tour now gets chainstay disc mounts. This lets you mount regular racks on to the Rock Tour, since the disc brakes no longer interfere with the rear eyelet.
We've added 29er sizes for the 20.5" and up. The taller 29er fork lets big riders get their bars higher than 26" forks will allow.
Geometries have been adjusted to provide a clear progression from size to size.
Canty brake mounts are no longer stock but they are available as a $75 option.

Geometry:

The Rock Tour's relatively upright geometry lets you enjoy the scenery around you while keeping your weight properly distributed for both sure climbing and descending - even with loads. These top tube lengths are short enough to allow you to mount drop bars, flat bars and, as shown above, even moustache bars. Gunnar offers an optional made-to-measure service for riders with special fitting needs.
Enjoy stable handling along with the compatibility with today's suspension forks. The optional Vicious Cycles rigid fork gives you the climbing efficiency that comes from a light steel unicrown design. The 29ers get our new machined head tube and front end layout, designed to insure plenty of clearance for 29er forks.
Tubing:

Waterford exclusive OS2 butted tube sets, featuring True Temper OX Platinum air-hardening steel alloys, custom drawn to our rigorous specs. Toptube and downtube are flared at the head tube for greater surface contact and rigidity. Tubeset specifications vary by frame size to offer riders of all sizes the strength and stiffness they need.
Brakes:

The Rock Tour comes with disc brakes - or add removable cantilever brake mounts for $75; giving you the flexibility to choose just the right braking system for your needs.
Rack Mounts:

Included, The Rock Tour now works with just about all regular rear racks. Eyelets are integrated with the chainstay disc dropouts. Generous chainstays and fork design leave you lots of room for big tires, big bags and heal clearance.
Fenders:

You can even mount full rear fenders to bosses on the dropouts, seatstay bridge and chainstay bridge.
Wheels and Tires:

The Rock Tour is avaialble with 26" wheels from 13.5-20.5 or 29er wheels from 20.5-23.5
Tires:

Clearance for 2.3 inchers.
Cable Routing:

Triple tube cable stops make braking and shifting responsive as well as portage easy.
Braze-Ons:

3 sets of water bottle bosses, triple stops, on top of top tube for brake and derailleurs, rack mounts, optional removable canti stud mounts, rear eyelets.
Dropouts:

Custom chainstay mounted disc dropouts. This unique dropout design makes it easy to mount racks without interfering with the disc brake calipers.
Seatpost:

Fits a standard 27.2 mm seatpost.
Forks:

Available Vicious Rigid fork with or without disc mounts. Suspension fork compatible - except that the head tube on the 23.5" size is too long for stock suspension fork steerer tubes.

Colors:

PPG catalyzed urethane finishes offered in Red, Black, Blue Metallic, Yellow and now Sterling Silver - with clearcoat over decal. Color of the month also available. It's $125 for a full Waterford finish level including clear coat, your choice from hundreds of colors and available special effects.
Weight (est):

4.25 pounds - 17.5" frame.
Pricing:

$975 for the 26er or 29er frame - $1175 for the made to measure or touring version. Add $325 for the Vicious Rigid fork.
