Anyone here running a Gunnar Sport with a Brooks B-17 saddle? Any seat post set back issues?

My son and I have Sports with B-17 saddles. No setback problems. We also use straight seatposts, Salsa and Thompson.

The seatposts are straight tubes. Salsa says their post has 23mm setback and Thompson says theirs has 16mm setback.

I tried a Brooks 17 on my Waterford RS-14. Even with the Ritchey 20mm set back, could not adjust the saddle properly. Now I'm riding the Selle-Anatomica. Love it. It has slightly longer rail adjustment than the Brooks.

Correct, rails too short. What it basically came down to was, toward the nose the brooks rails narrowed down quite quickly, giving you a much shorter overall fore/aft adjustment. I compared them to Terry, Specialized, Fizik and Selle-Italia saddles I have/had. I was close, but no cigar. i don't know if this was specific to the saddle I had or a design issue. If you have an opportunity, check it out. Hopefully a local shop carries Brooks so you could see/try before you buy.

I just put on a Velo Orange Long set back post, it has 30.5mm of set back and works perfectly with my brooks swallow.
