Hey all,
I've searched and can't find a weight on either the frame/fork or a compleate bike. Anyone?

BTW- Any feedback between a Sport and a DeSalvo road frame?

Thanks,
Chris

A 56 cm Sport frame comes in approximately 3.7 pounds.

Folks will chime in with their complete builds as components vary, but with Shimano 105, I would expect about 19 pounds with a steel fork and 18 pounds with a composite fork.

Thanks Dave! I'd love to hear actual complete bike weights from current owners.

Hey Chris,

I have a 56 cm Sport with

Steel Fork, 105 Shifters, Ultegra Front Derailleur, XT Rear Derailleur,
105 compact crankset, Ultegra Bottom Bracket, XT cassette,
Ultegra chain, Shimano BR-R600 Brakeset,
Ultegra, Mavic Open Pro wheels, Continental Grand Prix 4000 700 x 25c,
Cane Creek S6 Headset, Ritchey Pro Stem, FSA Energy Handlebar, Thompson Elite Seatpost, Brooks B17 with LD Slot, Zero Speedplay CrMo Pedals, King Cage Stainless Steel Bottle Cages, Topeak Explorer Tubular Rack, Topeak Road MasterBlaster Pump, Cateye El 410 Headlights, Cateye V3 Computer

Its 24lbs I really like this bike. I have only 738 miles on it so far.

I went middle of road - light but durable. Composite fork, Ultegra SL group, Easton EA 90 wheels, Michelin Krylion Carbon tires w/ normal thickness tubes, 2 stainless steel bottle cages, Terry Fly Ti saddle, Pedro saddle bag with spare tube and flat repair kit, Secondwind Road AL pump + a couple cartridges, Planet Bike Superflash Stealth tail light, Cateye Strada Wireless computer, Blackburn Flea marker light up front. With no bottles the rig totals 21 - 22 pounds. I could get the weight just below 20 with lighter tires/tubes and some stripping.

54cm w/ steel fork, full ultegra, R700 crank, Ritchy WCS and Pro Bars, stem seatpost, DT R1.1 rims, michelin PR2 25mm tires, brooks chrome swallow and 2 SS king cages all come to 20.50 pounds using the highly accurate bathroom scale method.

I would not worry about it too much, the wieght is competative with most steel frams out there. I considered getting a carbon fork, but then really thought about it and decided the weight penalty was no big deal and the ride of the steel fork was great. In addition the tire clearence with the steel fork is going to be better than any carbon fork. I like being able to use 33mm Jack Brown tires with this bike.
