Hey there everyone! I just found this site after owning 2 Gunnars for many years!

Anyways, I have a question! From what I can gather from my scratched up serial number, I have a 1998 Gunnar Rock Hound with canti/v-brake bosses. I would love to have disc brakes on my Hound. Should I have my current frame sent back to Gunnar via my local shop to have disc brake tabs installed and repainted? Or should I try to find a good home for my current ride and buy a new Gunnar with the disc brake option installed?Would anyone here be interested in buying my frame?

Thanks for riding Gunnar and welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, we cannot retrofit your Rockhound for disc brake use. The current Rockhound's seat and chainstays have been changed to accept a disc tab and removeable canti studs.

Finding a willing non-disc rider for your steed would be the best way to get your disc bike.

NO! Don't sell it. You'll never forgive yourself. Keep the old Gunnar and buy the new disc model. Turn your first Hound a winter bike with a ridged fork. Now you have three Gunnars and not just two. And, you can ride all year long!
