I just read the following on cyclingnews.com -

"Perhaps the most intriguing Paramount frame, though, is the new steel model. We don't have much information just yet other than that it uses Reynolds' latest 953 tubing and lugged joints and will be fully hand-built in Waterford, Wisconsin. Sorry, we don't have any images to show you just yet, either, but we're guessing its classic aesthetics and modern materials will likely appeal to more than a handful of riders. "

Just wondering who in Waterford, Wis. would be building these frames?

Are we going to have to wait for cyclingnews.com for details? Or can we get the inside scoop here?

The rumors are true. We're working with Schwinn on something really special. We're keeping tight-lipped about the details until the start of Interbike in September but are definitely excited about the project.

Here is an update: they are only making 70 and it is $6000 for the frame and fork, but it looks great!! Here is a link to Schwinn's site:

Now that Schwinn had its official introduction, complete with cupcakes, I can now share a few more details about the program.

There will be a limited number of these 70th anniversary Paramounts available. Each is built with 953 with a special 70th Anniversary lugset. The frames are made to measure, including the lug angles as necessary. It includes lots of cool details - like Waterford's Artisan dropouts and a slick seatstay cap design.

We're only building two a week so we can keep up with other production and I'm expecting production to begin some time in December.

I heard the price as $7k for the frame and fork.

Thanks,

Richard
