Gunnar Cycles USA Message Board

Hi Dave & Gunnar crew. I just purchased a nice used CrossHairs to accompany my Roadie for fast touring. I am considering returining it to a steel fork configuration and have a couple of questions. Are the Gunnar 'Cross forks made of the same True Temper Platinum OX Steel, 4130, or ??? Also, does the $275 listed include paint (the frame is the standard sterling silver).

Congrats on the used CrossHairs! $275 is the painted price, and can be done in the matching Sterling Silver.

The fork blades are Reynolds 525 chromoloy.

Hi Dave, Thanks, Sorry for the delay. Sounds pretty fair, but after riding her a bit I have been intrigued by the way she rides came to two conclusions- First, I may race her this Fall as she is and let my high BB aluminum stead take a breather. Saw other comments on low vs high riding bikes and not sure whether it's the slightly smoother ride or a slightly lower CG, but there is a definite difference and it feels good thus far; Second, I really like the the road feel also, but may go ahead and size up to a 54 and order a custom color a bit later on. This bike is as good an all-rounder as y'all claim!
