Hello,
I'm in the process of purchasing my 1st Gunnar. (Gunnar Sport) It's presently at the LBS and I plan to pick it up next Saturday. I stopped by this past Friday to take some pictures and just noticed now that the top tube is bare on the drivetrain side. Is this normal? Should the LBS have the "SPORT" decal? Is it on the non-drivetrain side? I've sent an email to the LBS but figured I'd check here so I'd know what to expect. I've included a picture below. Thanks!

just a baby one on front of seat tube. less gaudy, more better. when i ordered mine direct from Gunnar, I asked Mr. Schwinn if he could leave that one off the top tube. He informed me they did not put one there any more .

Thanks for your response. Are you saying that there is no longer a decal on the top tube to specify the model? ("SPORT", "ROADIE", etc.) I agree that it does look much cleaner without any top tube decal, but I want to make sure that one shouldn't be there. My LBS ordered the frame and I didn't make any special request to leave it off. Thanks.

according to Richard Schwinn, when I spoke to him, they no longer put the Sport on the top tube, only on the seat tube...and much less pronounced.

If you look at the photo at the top of this thread, you'll see a little "Sport" decal on the seat tube, just below the mug shot of our favorite beast.

In 2002, I had to special order mine without the "Roadie" decal. Nice to see the trend stock.
