Being a very satisfied Gunnar Roadie owner It's fascinating to see all the custom steel manufacturers out there though I'm still convinced that Gunnar is the unsurpassed best value in a steel bike out there. In looking though I stumbled for the first time on the term/process called Truecote...or is it Trucote from True Temper. It appears to be a zinc or other other-corrosive coating applied to their tubes. Have all Gunnar True Temper OS2 tubes since late 2003 had this stuff applied and to what extent does it negate the need for frame saver or other such products. It's amazing but I can't find any good information on the web for this process.

We're not familiar with Trucote as an option from True Temper. We'd love to have tubes that don't require extra corrosion prevention. If you have more information, please pass it on!

In the meantime, wax and Framesaver are both our friends!
