Hi all - sorry if this has been covered before on the forum, but I'm a bit new here!
I recently bought a NOS Gunnar Roadie frame from my local bike shop; it's an older model, with the more traditional geometry and what appears to be a 1" headtube.
I'd like to put a full-carbon fork on the Roadie, as I'll be using it for training and a bit of racing. Unfortunately, 1" threadless full carbon forks are getting VERY hard to find. I've been looking for the discontinued 1" threadless EC90SL fork with no luck so far; this seems to be the best match for the Roadie's geometry, with 43mm rake and ~365mm axle to crown.
I've been able to find at least one other 1" threadless full carbon fork that's currently in production and available: the Columbus Minimal fork. (See here:
http://www.columbustubi.com/eng/4_2_12.htm) I've heard pretty good things about the fork, but it's only available in 45mm rake with a ~370mm axle to crown.
So, a couple questions: first, has anyone found any other 1" carbon fork options that work well with the Roadie geometry? Second, if I were to go with a Columbus Minimal, how would this affect the handling of the Gunnar? Is 2mm of difference in rake going to make that big of a difference?
